Softball Recap: Everett Takes a Loss

Everett had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 6-8 to make it four. They fell just short of Marysville Getchell by a score of 3-2. The Seagulls were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Marysville Getchell earlier this season, when they won 4-2.

As for Marysville Getchell, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-9 record. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since April 2, 2024.

For Marysville Getchell's part, Aaliyah Shafer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up ten Ks. Shafer has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Marysville Getchell saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elle Glover, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

While Everett had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
