Basketball Recap: EF Academy Takes a Loss

If EF Academy was riding high fresh off their 59-18 takedown of Waverly back in December of 2024, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. EF Academy took a blow against the Polytechnic Panthers on Tuesday, falling 89-22. While losing is never fun, EF Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1098th, while Polytechnic is ranked 483rd).

EF Academy dropped their record down to 3-6 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Polytechnic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-5.

EF Academy will challenge Sequoyah School at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Polytechnic, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Rio Hondo Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Polytechnic has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
