Baseball Game Preview: Highland Rams vs. Canyon Ridge Riverhawks

Highland is a perfect 3-0 against Canyon Ridge since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Rams are taking a road trip to take on the Riverhawks at 4:30 p.m. Highland will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, Highland got the win against Rigby by a conclusive 13-1. With that win, the Rams brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Kai Jones made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Jones was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Cannon Eddie was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. He has become a key player for Highland: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Mason Payne, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Canyon Ridge lost 16-6 to Rigby on Saturday.

Canyon Ridge saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kohyn Barnes, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.

Canyon Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Highland, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Everything went Highland's way against Canyon Ridge in their previous meeting back in March of 2019, as Highland made off with a 7-0 victory. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Riverhawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
