Preview: Hillcrest Trojans vs. Ramona Rams
Hillcrest is 10-0 against Ramona since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Hillcrest Trojans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Ramona Rams at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Hillcrest's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last ten contests.
Hillcrest pushed their score all the way to 70 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Norte Vista by a score of 73-70. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Hillcrest came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 166th, while Norte Vista is ranked 572nd).
Meanwhile, Ramona's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 68-52 to Patriot.
Hillcrest's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-6. As for Ramona, they bumped their record down to 7-16 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Hillcrest against Ramona in their previous matchup on January 2nd as the team secured a 78-46 win. Will Hillcrest repeat their success, or does Ramona have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
