Football Recap: Make It Seven in a Row for Wilmington

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wilmington). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 54-6 win over the Reed-Custer Comets. Considering the Wildcats have won seven games by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory (which was Wilmington's seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.6 points on average over those games. As for Reed-Custer, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Wilmington will be playing at home against Coal City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will need to watch out since the Coalers have now posted at least 31 points in their last six contests. Reed-Custer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
