Homestead entered their tilt with Monta Vista on Tuesday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Matadors. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Matadors back in September, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (100-99) Homestead actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 19-25, 15-25, 25-18, 15-10.

Homestead's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Natalie Chen led the charge by getting 31 digs and six assists. That's the most assists Chen has posted over her last eight matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilian Logan, who had 33 assists and 11 digs.

When it comes to explaining why Monta Vista lost, don't look at Srahi Bobbili. Despite the final result, she had 30 digs and two aces. Bobbili has been hot recently, having posted 14 or more digs the last four times she's played.

Homestead's record is now 22-7. As for Monta Vista, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 18-11.
