Volleyball Recap: Homestead's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Homestead waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Monta Vista Matadors. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Matadors back in September, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (100-99) Homestead actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 19-25, 15-25, 25-18, 15-10.

Homestead's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Natalie Chen, who had 31 digs and six assists. That's the most assists Chen has posted over her last eight matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilian Logan, who had 33 assists and 11 digs.

Homestead's win bumped their record up to 22-7. As for Monta Vista, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 18-11.
