Baseball Game Preview: Zephyrhills Bulldogs vs. Cypress Creek Coyotes

The Zephyrhills Bulldogs and the Cypress Creek Coyotes will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

Zephyrhills fell victim to IMG Academy Navy and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 10-0 to the Ascenders. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Cypress Creek hadn't done well against Wiregrass Ranch recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Cypress Creek came out on top in a nail-biter against Wiregrass Ranch, sneaking past 4-3.

Cooper Neale tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Cypress Creek is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 2-3 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Everett Burgess, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Aaden Hernandez also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The victory got Cypress Creek back to even at 4-4. As for Zephyrhills, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Zephyrhills might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Cypress Creek when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Zephyrhills avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
