Volleyball Recap: Warde Mustangs vs. Trumbull Eagles

Warde and Trumbull squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Warde had to settle for second. They came up short against the Trumbull Eagles, falling 3-0. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Warde was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Trumbull work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-15, 25-15.

Laila Henry paced Warde's offense, picking up six kills. Henry really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 18. Finally, she was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Warde's loss dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Trumbull, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Warde does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Trumbull, they will face off against Southington at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Southington is coming into the contest with ten straight victories on the road, so Trumbull will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
