Basketball Game Preview: Ronan Chiefs vs. Butte Central Catholic Maroons

Having just played yesterday, the Ronan Chiefs will jump right back in to play the Butte Central Catholic Maroons at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Ronan is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since January 28th on Thursday. They were beaten by Beaverhead County 59-29. The defeat continues a trend for the Chiefs in their meetings with the Beavers: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Butte Central Catholic took a blow against Bigfork on Thursday, falling 51-24. While losing is never fun, the Maroons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Vikings & Valkyries are ranked 27th).

Butte Central Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Ronan, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.

Ronan didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Butte Central Catholic when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 45-39 victory. Will Ronan repeat their success, or does Butte Central Catholic have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
