Basketball Recap: Carey Comes Up Short

Carey was the 60-54 winner over Hopewell-Loudon when they last played one another back in February of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Carey Blue Devils took a 51-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains on Tuesday. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Carey's loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Hopewell-Loudon, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carey will be taking part in a tournament against Toledo Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Toledo Christian will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Carey surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hopewell-Loudon, they will face off against Ottawa Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Ottawa Hills has won eight straight at home, while Hopewell-Loudon won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
