Basketball Recap: Pine Forest Finds Home Court Redemption Against Triton

There's no place like home for Pine Forest, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They came out on top against the Triton Hawks by a score of 69-61 on Tuesday. This was payback for the Trojans, who suffered a 69-51 loss the last time these two teams met.

It was another big night for Derek Green, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. Kabori Simmons was another key player, going 8 of 15 on his way to 20 points and five assists.

Pine Forest smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in eight consecutive games.

Triton's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamaury Taylor, who posted 13 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Demarbiaz Devane, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 11 points and six rebounds.

Pine Forest now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Triton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.

Pine Forest wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 63-50 victory against Purnell Swett on the 8th. As for Triton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 75-50 win against Overhills on the 9th.
