While Chavez's win against Arleta wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles skirted past the Mustangs 7-6. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-3 back in April.

Jessica Ramos and Alyssa Anaya did most of the damage at the plate: Ramos got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one RBI, while Anaya went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Anaya has posted since back in April. Vida Gomez was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Chavez kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory made it two in a row for Chavez and bumps their season record up to 11-12. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 9-14 Arleta and 5-7-1 Verdugo Hills. As for Arleta, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-14.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Chavez will take on rival Poly at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Arleta is set to square off against their familiar foe Verdugo Hills at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
