Basketball Game Preview: Oskaloosa Indians vs. Newton Cardinals

Oskaloosa hasn't had much luck against Newton recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Oskaloosa Indians will head out to face off against the Newton Cardinals at 7:30 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Oskaloosa took a blow against Pella, falling 74-32. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 228th, while the Dutch are ranked 105th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Newton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They strolled past Pella Christian with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 68-51.

Newton is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Oskaloosa, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.

Oskaloosa came up short against Newton in their previous meeting last Thursday, falling 46-34. Can Oskaloosa avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
