It was a good run, but  Covington unfortunately witnessed the end of their  six-match winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against  the Miami East Vikings, falling  3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  3-1  back in September.
 The final score came out to 25-9, 25-21,  25-18.
 Dakohta Kenworthy paced Covington's offense, picking up six kills. Kenworthy got some help from  Addison Ventura and her 15 assists. Ventura was also solid from the service line:  she led the team with two aces.
 Miami East was led to victory by  Jersey Cutlip and  Kylee Bowsher.  Cutlip  had 16 assists and 11  digs, while  Bowsher  had 12  digs and two  aces. That's the most  digs  Cutlip has posted since back in September.
Covington's loss dropped their record down to 17-5. As for Miami East, the  victory (which was their 20th in a row) raised their record to 20-2.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Covington will take on Miami Valley in a tournament  on Tuesday. As for Miami East, after both having extra time off, they and Greeneview will shake off the rust and duke it out  at 3:00  p.m.  on  the 18th.
