Basketball Recap: Alex Marcus Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Peach County

There's no place like home for Westover, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They secured a 43-38 W over the Peach County Trojans on Friday.

Westover's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alex Marcus, who posted eight points and 16 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Marcus a new career-high in rebounds. Savannah Donaldson was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.

Westover smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matchups.

Westover now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Peach County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Westover is taking a road trip to challenge Bainbridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bainbridge will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Westover surely won't give up without a fight. As for Peach County, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-33 defeat against Warner Robins on the 4th.
