Lafayette Central Catholic is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. Everything went their way against Benton Central as they made off with a 12-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won 12 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Delphi Community was able to grind out a solid win over Seeger on Saturday, taking the game 6-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Oracles.

Keygan Elliott spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brett Huffman, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs. Delphi Community is undefeated when Huffman posts two or more runs, but 4-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Tayte Bernhardt, who earned two runs and two stolen bases.

Delphi Community's victory bumped their record up to 18-11. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 24-5.

Lafayette Central Catholic couldn't quite get it done against Delphi Community in their previous matchup back in May of 2019 as they fell 6-1. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
