St. Xavier has gone a perfect 6-0 against South Oldham recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Tigers will face off against the Dragons at 5:30 p.m. St. Xavier will be looking to extend their current 13-game winning streak.

St. Xavier's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Oldham County by a score of 4-0.

St. Xavier got a great performance from Colton Zuege as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over six innings pitched. Zuege has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, St. Xavier saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaden Ford, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits Ford has posted since back in April. Cameron Marks also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, South Oldham waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Centurions 16-5. South Oldham's victory was all the more impressive since the Centurions were averaging only 3.93 runs allowed on the season.

St. Xavier's win was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for South Oldham, their win bumped their record up to 11-16.

Everything went St. Xavier's way against South Oldham in their previous meeting back in May of 2021, as St. Xavier made off with an 8-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
