Jackson's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Coral Reef Barracudas by a score of 64-51. With that win, the Generals brought their scoring average up to 50.2 points per game.
Jordany Fils-Aime was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. Leonard Clark was another key player, putting up ten points along with seven assists and seven boards.
Jackson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Despite the loss, Coral Reef still got an impressive performance from Ashton Williams, who went 10 of 12 on his way to 20 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. That's the most points Williams has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Pozzo, who posted 11 points.
Jackson's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Coral Reef, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jackson will take on Homestead in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Homestead knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Jackson likes a good challenge. Coral Reef and Central will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Central will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Coral Reef surely won't give up without a fight.
