Basketball Recap: Penelope Comes Up Short

Penelope was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They were dealt a 66-34 defeat at the hands of the Coolidge Yellowjackets. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellowjackets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Penelope's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Coolidge, they pushed their record up to 13-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Penelope will host Mount Calm at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Coolidge, they will head out to take on Neches at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Coolidge knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Neches likes a good challenge.
