Basketball Recap: Holmes Takes a Loss

If Holmes was riding high fresh off their 65-38 takedown of Bellevue last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Holmes Bulldogs were beaten by the Covington Catholic Colonels 87-44 on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 175th in Kentucky, while the Colonels are ranked seventh in Kentucky).

Holmes' defeat dropped their record down to 15-14. As for Covington Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season.

Holmes does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Covington Catholic, they will take on Holy Cross at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Holy Cross' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 games.
