Basketball Recap: Page Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Page won the last time they faced Ragsdale and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Page Pirates came out on top against the Ragsdale Tigers by a score of 55-42. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 228th, while the Tigers are ranked 565th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ragsdale's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dashawn Ervin, who posted ten points. Josiah Beatty was another key player, putting up ten points.

Page's win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Ragsdale, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-17.

Page didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 73-51 victory against Western Guilford on the 31st. As for Ragsdale, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 71-35 defeat against Grimsley on the 31st.
