It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Asotin ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Colfax Bulldogs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since May 14, 2024.

CODY ELLS made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on SAM HALL, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. COOPER THOMAS was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Asotin is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Colfax, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-6.

Asotin wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 11-0 victory against Pullman on the 1st. As for Colfax, they have also already played their next matchup, a 14-4 win against Pomeroy on the 1st.
