The Central Baptist Swordsmen couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 39-14 walloping at the hands of Franklin Road Christian on Saturday. Central Baptist has not had much luck with Franklin Road Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Franklin Road Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Bryleigh Dempsey out in front who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Gracie Tidwell, who scored 10 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals.

Central Baptist's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Franklin Road Christian, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.

Central Baptist will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pleasant View Christian at 11:00 a.m. on January 20, 2024. Franklin Road Christian is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Zion Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th.
