Sanderson had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They escaped with a win against the Heritage Huskies by the margin of a single free throw, 57-56. Surprisingly, this marked the Spartans' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Sanderson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kendrick Pulley, who shot 46% from the field en route to 18 points. Those 18 points gave Pulley a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Malakhi Murphy, who went 5-for-9 on his way to 10 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.

Ryder Strand and Christian Hargett certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Strand shot 71% from the field to rack up 21 points and six boards, while Hargett posted 18 points. Strand is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last eight games he's played dating back to last season.

Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Sanderson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-47 victory against Clayton on the 21st. As for Heritage, they have also already played their next game, an 82-80 loss against Leesville Road on the 21st.
