Last Friday, Newman Smith blew past North Mesquite, posting a 48-13 win at home. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 325th, while the Stallions are ranked 724th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Newman Smith can attribute much of their success to Axel Lofstrand, who threw for 323 yards and five touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes, and Allijah Harrison, who gained 231 total yards and three touchdowns. Harrison is also crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 101 every time he's taken the field this season.
