Softball Recap: Gilroy Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Gilroy had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over the Leland Chargers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 18-2 back in March.

Not much got past Stella Rhodas, who gave up just a hit to keep Leland off the board.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Dani Wilson, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Andrea Alvarez, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Gilroy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Leland only managed two hits.

Gilroy's win bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Leland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-8.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Gilroy will take on rival Ann Sobrato at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Leland is set to challenge their familiar foe Leigh at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
