Softball Recap: Mountain View Christian Wins Going Away Against Beatty

Mountain View Christian never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Beatty on Monday. They blew past the Hornets 20-5. Considering the Saints' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Keiva Feingold made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 5-for-5 with five stolen bases, four runs, and five RBI. Those five hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cristina Arriaga, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Ramsey, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5.

Mountain View Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .488. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Mountain View Christian's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Beatty, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Mountain View Christian beat the Hornets by a score of 16-1 later that day.
