Baseball Recap: Howards Grove's Losing Streak Snapped at Ten Games

Howards Grove can bid farewell to their ten-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Sturgeon Bay Clippers.

Logan Miller made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over 5.1 innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one double. He has become a key player for Howards Grove: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-14 otherwise.

In other batting news, Mason Scharl was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Braven Wilson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Howards Grove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Howards Grove's victory bumped their record up to 3-15. As for Sturgeon Bay, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-6 record.
