Basketball Game Preview: Lawrence County Red Devils vs. Florence Falcons

The Lawrence County Red Devils will venture away from home to face off against the Florence Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Lawrence County has now lost 17 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since November 18.

Last Friday, Lawrence County had to suffer through a 76-29 loss at the hands of Decatur Heritage Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 338th, while the Eagles are ranked 42nd).

Meanwhile, Florence came up short against Deshler on Saturday and fell 54-47. The Falcons have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Florence's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-11. As for Lawrence County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-18.

Lawrence County took a serious blow against Florence when the teams last played back in November of 2024, falling 70-25. Can Lawrence County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
