Softball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Gresham's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sandy, Gresham was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Barlow Bruins by a score of 5-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-2 on May 2nd.

La Terra Foster-Frison was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Maddy Sagapolutele, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Gresham hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive contests.

Gresham is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Barlow, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-9.

Looking ahead, Gresham will head out to challenge Jesuit at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Barlow, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cleveland at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
