It was a good run, but Rifle unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Eagle Valley Devils by a score of 13-12. The Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Devils earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Josh Wright made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Rifle's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 8-4. As for Eagle Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 3-7.

Rifle didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 11-1 defeat against Glenwood Springs on the 16th. As for Eagle Valley, they have also already played their next game, an 8-6 win against Steamboat Springs on the 16th.
