Topsail hasn't had much luck against Hoggard recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Pirates will welcome the Vikings at 6:00 p.m. Topsail is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.8 goals per game this season.

On Monday, Topsail earned a 3-1 victory over North Brunswick. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Topsail's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 91st, while North Brunswick are ranked 302nd).

Topsail hit North Brunswick with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Connor Tyson, Jax Lawrence, and Achy Boutis.

Meanwhile, Hoggard had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.8 goals) and they went ahead and made it 13 on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Wildcats a 2-0 shutout. Hoggard found success even though the refs didn't miss a thing: three Hoggard players were handed yellow cards.

Hoggard's win bumped their record up to 15-1-1. As for Topsail, they now have a winning record of 9-8-3.
