Softball Game Preview: Heritage Patriots vs. Hillcrest Trojans

The Heritage Patriots will head out to face off against the Hillcrest Trojans at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Heritage is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Heritage came up short against Tahquitz on Monday, falling 12-2.

Heritage saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Allie Garcia, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double. Another was Aryah Phiakeo, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Hillcrest suffered their closest loss since February 26th on Thursday. They fell just short of Canyon Springs by a score of 3-1. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hillcrest's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Heritage, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.

Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Heritage has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. However, it's not like Hillcrest struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Heritage suffered a grim 14-4 defeat to Hillcrest in their previous meeting on April 3rd. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
