Basketball Recap: Worth County Skates Past Jeff Davis with Ease

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Worth County's strategy against Jeff Davis on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Worth County Rams blew the Jeff Davis Yellowjackets out of the water with an 86-40 final score. With the Rams ahead 41-18 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Worth County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was ASHTON WILLIAMS out in front who went 9 of 18 on his way to 24 points in addition to seven assists and seven rebounds. WILLIAMS's evening made it 16 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of JAMES RAYMOND, who went 7 for 17 en route to 19 points along with seven boards and four steals.

Despite the defeat, Jeff Davis saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Braylon Tobler posted 11 points. Tobler continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kolby Jarrell, who scored five points.

Worth County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.0 points per game. As for Jeff Davis, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
