Basketball Recap: Catholic Central Takes a Loss

Catholic Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 68-16 loss at the hands of the Southeastern Local Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Irish can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 697th, while the Trojans are ranked 127th).

Meyer Webster was Catholic Central's leading scorer, having posted six points. Danaysha Dearmond held things down on the boards with five rebounds.

Catholic Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Southeastern Local, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.

Catholic Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-41 win against Northwestern on the 27th. As for Southeastern Local, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 70-50 loss against Springfield on the 27th.
