Recap: Whitewright Tigers vs. Sulphur Bluff Bears
The Whitewright Tigers entered their tilt with the Sulphur Bluff Bears with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Whitewright narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Sulphur Bluff 40-37. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Whitewright also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Sulphur Bluff's loss on Friday came despite strong showings from Zaylee Peyton and Emma Neal. Peyton scored 14 points along with 8 rebounds, while Neal scored 16 points along with 6 rebounds.
Whitewright's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Sulphur Bluff, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Whitewright will take on Celeste at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Celeste is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road. As for Sulphur Bluff, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Wolfe City at 9:30 a.m. on December 9th. Wolfe City has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 16.
