Recap: Jenks Trojans vs. Union Redhawks
The Jenks Trojans had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They snuck past Union with a 33-27 victory on Friday. Jenks' win was all the more impressive since Union was averaging only 15.38 points allowed on the season.
When it comes to explaining why Union lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jino Boyd. Despite the final result, he picked up 152 receiving yards and a touchdown. Boyd was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 65 yards.
Jenks is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Union, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-2.
Jenks will square off against Bixby at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bixby knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 matches -- so hopefully Jenks likes a good challenge. Union does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
