Baseball Game Preview: Lincoln Lions vs. Central Crossing Comets

The Lincoln Lions are taking a road trip to face off against the Central Crossing Comets at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 11.

It was a proper cat-fight when Lincoln faced off against Pickerington North on Wednesday. The Lions lost 12-6 to the Panthers.

Michael Barker made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Jack Baker was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Grove City hit Central Crossing with a six-run second inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Comets came up short against the Greyhounds, falling 11-4. The Comets have struggled against the Greyhounds recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Central Crossing saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Robert Taylor, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Central Crossing, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.

Central Crossing's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lincoln has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .438. It's a different story for Central Crossing, though, as they've only averaged .326. Will they be able to contain Lincoln's hitters?
