Basketball Recap: Wauneta-Palisade Broncos vs. Creek Valley Storm
Wauneta-Palisade was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 57-43 bruising from the Creek Valley Storm.
Defeat or not, Wauneta-Palisade got some senior leadership from Nathan Blackman and Aden Acton. Blackman posted five points in addition to five assists and four steals, while Acton had 11 points.
Lane Brenneman had an outrageously good game for Creek Valley as he dropped a double-double on 34 points and 11 boards. Brenneman's evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Mason Timm, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards.
Wauneta-Palisade's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Coincidentally, Wauneta-Palisade and Creek Valley will both be playing Dundy County-Stratton the next time they take the court. Creek Valley will host Dundy County-Stratton at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Wauneta-Palisade will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
