Basketball Recap: Southwest Learning Center Falls to Albuquerque Homeschool in First Game of Season

Southwest Learning Center unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 46-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Albuquerque HomeSchool Saints on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Southwest Learning Center of the 55-52 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March.

Albuquerque HomeSchool's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sam Westfall led the charge by going 6 for 14 on his way to 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Corin Freymiller, who posted ten points.

The win made it two in a row for Albuquerque HomeSchool and bumps their season record up to 7-1.

Southwest Learning Center does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Albuquerque HomeSchool, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Varsity Opponent at 4:45 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
