The Sonora Raiders will head out to square off against the Brea Olinda Wildcats at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Sonora 2.6, Brea Olinda 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Sonora will bounce into Wednesday's game after beating Woodrow Wilson, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. The Raiders put the hurt on the Bruins with a sharp 8-2 victory on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Raiders.
Caleb Orr was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Orr was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lincoln Webster, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Brea Olinda came tearing into Thursday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Lancers. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by seven runs or more this season.
Brea Olinda also got a great performance from Nicholas Rodriguez as he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Rodriguez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Michael Russell was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Jesse Hirsch, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Brea Olinda always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sunny Hills only posted an OBP of .200.
Brea Olinda pushed their record up to 13-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Sonora, their record is now 13-7.
Sonora suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Brea Olinda in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
