Baseball Recap: Liberty Triumphs

After losing to Castro Valley the last time they met, Liberty decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Liberty came out on top against Castro Valley by a score of 7-3 on Friday. With that victory, the Lions brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Josh Kelleher looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Liberty got a big performance out of Sean Kelly, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave Kelly a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Rane Miller, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Liberty's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Castro Valley, their record is now 6-3.

Coming up, Liberty will square off against Tracy at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday. As for Castro Valley, they will welcome Bishop O'Dowd at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
