Softball Game Preview: River City Raiders vs. Franklin Wildcats

The River City Raiders will head out on the road to challenge the Franklin Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Rodriguez hit River City with a four-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Raiders fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 6-5.

Emily Sauceda was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Hailey Flint also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Franklin came up short against Elk Grove on Wednesday, falling 11-2. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Thundering Herd recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Micayla Arlotto made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases.

River City has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season. As for Franklin, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10-1.

River City couldn't quite get it done against Franklin in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 as they fell 9-5. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
