Baseball Recap: Clopton Finds Home Field Redemption Against Louisiana

There's no place like home for Clopton, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They never let the Louisiana Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory on Thursday. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by six runs or more this season.

Mick Evans and Adam Matheny were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Evans tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Matheny pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Evans has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Evans scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Matheny scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Peter Daskalakis and Adam Lindsay did most of the damage at the plate: Daskalakis scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Lindsay scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Daskalakis is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Lilley, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Clopton's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Louisiana, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Clopton will venture away from home to take on Marion County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Louisiana, they will welcome Van-Far at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
