Basketball Recap: Marvin Ridge Victorious

Porter Ridge came into Tuesday's match looking for another win against Marvin Ridge, but Henry Smith wouldn't allow it. The Marvin Ridge Mavericks enjoyed a cozy 67-50 victory over the Porter Ridge Pirates on Tuesday thanks in part to Smith, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. Those 24 points gave him a new career-high.

Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Reid Johannes, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 boards. The contest was Johannes' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Conroy, who posted eight points.

Marvin Ridge's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Porter Ridge, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

Marvin Ridge has already played their next matchup, a 64-57 victory against Charlotte Catholic on the 17th. As for Porter Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-57 defeat against Monroe on the 8th.
