Volleyball Recap: Wheatmore Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Wheatmore lost against Central Davidson back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Warriors took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The final score came out to 25-21, 16-25, 25-14, 25-22.

Madeline Mullinix paced Wheatmore's offense, picking up nine kills. Mullinix got some help from Lanie McMahan and her 23 assists. McMahan was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Cayman James went supernova For Central Davidson., getting 28 digs and two aces. James is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cassidy Hayes, who had 11 digs and two aces.

Wheatmore's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Central Davidson, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Wheatmore has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Providence Grove on the 7th. As for Central Davidson, they will take on Montgomery Central at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
