Basketball Recap: Southeastern Takes a Loss

Southeastern lost against Zane Trace back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The match between the Southeastern Panthers and the Zane Trace Pioneers didn't end well, with the Southeastern Panthers falling 57-42. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 434th, while the Pioneers are ranked 190th).

Zane Trace's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Landon Robinson led the charge by going 7 of 11 on his way to 16 points along with six assists and four blocks. Another player making a difference was Gunnar McCullough, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Southeastern and nudges their season record down to 9-6. As for Zane Trace, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Piketon the next time they take the court. Zane Trace will head out to face Piketon at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Southeastern will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
