Recap: Eisenhower Tigers vs. Haysville Campus Colts
The Eisenhower Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. Their rough 81-55 loss to Haysville Campus might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Eisenhower can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 191st, while Haysville Campus is ranked 31st).
Eisenhower's loss came despite strong showings from Pierce Blue and Larsen Schneider. Blue scored 13 points along with eight rebounds, while Schneider scored ten points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Arjay Daracan, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Andrell Burton, jr was his usual excellent self, shooting 5-for-6 from long range and dropping a double-double on 37 points and 14 rebounds for Haysville Campus. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Burton, jr has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaason Thomas, who scored eight points along with five assists and two steals.
Eisenhower has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Haysville Campus, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eisenhower and Salina Central will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Haysville Campus, they will play host again and welcome Derby, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Derby and Haysville Campus are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
