Volleyball Recap: Copper Hills Grizzlies vs. Uintah Utes
Copper Hills extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-3. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Uintah Utes. If the Grizzlies were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Utes when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Katarina Kovacevic paced Copper Hills' offense, picking up nine kills. Kovacevic got some help from Paige Jensen and her 27 assists. Kovacevic was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.
As for Uintah, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since August 31, 2024.
Abbie Davis had a dynamite game, getting 43 assists and six digs. Those 43 assists gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alexa Rios, who had 14 digs.
Copper Hills wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Layton on the 14th. As for Uintah, they have also already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against Millard on the 15th.
